Amber Iman, Kecia Lewis and More Gear Up for Jocelyn Bioh’s New Music Goddess at Berkeley

The Berkeley Repertory Theater has announced the cast for the world premiere of the new musical Goddess, with a book by Jocelyn Bioh, music by Michael Thurber and design/production by Saheem Ali. It runs from August 13 to September 25.

In Goddess, a mysterious singer arrives at Moto Moto, a scorching Afro-jazz club in Mombasa, Kenya. She casts a bewitching spell on everyone, including a young man who has returned home after studying in America. Will the great projects of his life – entering into a political inheritance and marrying his fiancée – be upset?
