Global superstar Dolly Parton’s hit musical announces Adelaide season • Glam Adelaide

It was announced today that Dolly Parton’s hit musical 9 TO 5 MUSIC will play at the Festival Theater in Adelaide from October as part of its Australian tour, produced by Adelaide’s own John Frost for Crossroads Live Australia, Suzanne Jones and Productions of the Ambassador Theater Group.

Internationally acclaimed and loved by audiences and critics alike, 9 to 5 it’s pure pleasure carat d’or! Waiting list now to be first in line to buy tickets before the general public at 9to5themusical.com.au

The West End favorite emerged victorious in their Sydney knockout season at the Capitol Theatre, which ends on May 8. 9 to 5 will transfer to the Lyric Theatre, QPAC from May 22, and the State Theatre, Arts Center Melbourne, from July 10, before heading to Adelaide.

A stellar cast has been assembled to portray these iconic and much-loved roles. Marina Before (The sound of music, the phantom of the opera) plays Violet Newstead, a smart, sassy and efficient woman who has worked her whole life at Consolidated Industries. She has everything it takes to run the business, but there’s a little hitch…her boss!

Casey Donovan (We’ll rock you, Chicago) is Judy Bernly, a newly estranged young woman who has never worked before and finds more than just a job at Consolidated Industries.

Erin Claire (Heathers the Musical, American Idiot) plays Doralee Rhodes, a well-mannered, bright, and beautiful country gal. It may look like a push, but it’s anything but!

Caroline O’Connor (Chicago, everything is fine) East busy Roz Keith, the administrative assistant who is fiercely – and unrequited – in love with her boss, while perfect eddie (televisions Offspring, Shane Warne The Musical) plays the controlling boss Franklin Hart Jnr.

Complete the cast are Lily Bauldstone, Ana Maria Belo, Zoe Coppinger, Mia Dabkowski-Chandler, Ben Gillespie, Emma Hawthorne, James Haxby, Emma Johns, Jay Johns, Ethan Jones, Antonia Marr, Josh Mulheran, Tom New, Jake O’Brien, Matthew Prime, Jackson Reedman, Jordan Tomljenovic and Jessica Velucci.

“I’m so excited that 9 TO 5 is coming to Adelaide with this talented cast and crew in mind,” said Dolly Parton. “The response to 9 TO 5 from around the world has been amazing so far. I can’t wait for everyone to have a fun (and fun!) night at 9 TO 5!”

Producers John Frost for Crossroads Live Australia, Suzanne Jones and Ambassador Theater Group Productions said: “We are delighted to be able to bring 9 TO 5 to Adelaide at the wonderful Festival Theater with our glorious cast led by Marina, Casey, Erin, Eddie and Caroline . Audiences in Sydney flocked to 9 TO 5 and loved the familiar story, Dolly’s wonderful songs and this fantastic cast. Join us for the most fun you will have all year!”

The best musical to ever hit Australia– Dave Hughes, 2DAY-FM

A West End sensation and inspired by the hit film, the musical tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy, three enterprising co-workers pushed to the limit by their mean-spirited boss Franklin Hart Jnr. Using wit, camaraderie and cunning, they dream up a limitless scheme to kidnap and turn the tables on their controlling supervisor in the most hilarious and provocative way. The only question is whether the fiery trio will manage to change the culture of the office to reach their full potential – or will events unfold when the CEO pays an unexpected visit?

With a sparkling score by Dolly Parton and a book by the iconic film’s original screenwriter, Patricia Resnick, 9 to 5 is the quintessential feel-good show for its time. Full of playfulness, laughter and affection, it’s golden carat fun!
