Hi-Liners Musical Theater Classes for Teens and Children Start March 22

Burien’s Hi-Liners Musical Theater children’s and teen acting and dance classes begin Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

“Whether your child aspires to be an actor, to gain confidence, or simply to have fun and make new friends, Hi-Liners Musical Theater (HMT) has a class for them,” organizers said.

Registrations are now open for their spring sessions:

Footlights (4-6 years old)
March 22-May 31, Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Children will practice listening actively, following directions and taking turns, BUT DON’T TELL THEM! They’ll think we’re just playing games, singing songs, and making up stories.

Imagination Station (6-8 years old)
March 22-May 31, Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The fundamental skills of observation, maintaining focus and cueing are practiced in drama games, stories and songs. Together we create short scenes and songs for a performance on our last day!

Playhouse Musical Theater (9-11 years old)
March 23-June 1, Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Playhouse is a place to learn how to make the physical and vocal choices necessary to create a character. Students will work on the fundamental theatrical skills of voice projection, making character choices, creating stage images, and collaborating with other actors.

Improvisation (from 12 years old)
From March 25 to June 3, Fridays from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Learn to think on your feet, be creative on demand, and finally get the respect you deserve for being the class clown!

Dance lessons (from 9 years old)
These dance classes are for beginner to intermediate level students interested in improving their dance skills and technique with a focus on musical theatre:

    • Ballet warm-up
      From March 26 to June 4, Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    • Dance for musical theater
