This May bank holiday, a unique cancer fundraiser celebrating bluebell season will take place in a forest in Laois.
“Bells and Whistles – Bluebells, Music, Wild Garlic and more” is the event organized by Durrow Tidy Towns, and it will take place from 2pm to 4pm on Bank Holiday Monday at Knockatrina Woods on Kilkenny Road, Durrow.
Committee member Kevin Delaney invites everyone to come and enjoy the beautiful flowers and sounds, all for a good cause.
Come and enjoy bluebells, wild garlic, music, storytelling and nature,” he said.
The occurrence is using two causes; the Cuisle Cancer Care center which provides free vital care to people on the cancer journey and their families. It is based on the Block Road in Portlaoise.
The funds will also be used to support the work of Durrow Clean Cities. There is a €5 FEEE entrance car park, with donation buckets for people to donate an amount of their choice.
The public is asked to wear appropriate outdoor clothing and to follow the instructions of the stewards on duty.
Keving is also asking local musicians of all skill levels to please join in the performances.
