Neil Diamond receives a standing ovation at the premiere of his musical A Beautiful Noise

On June 21, Neil Diamond attended the first preview of the world premiere of A Beautiful Noise, the Neil Diamond Musical. Diamond received a loud standing ovation upon arriving at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theater and again at the curtain call. Watch below:

The cast of A nice sound is directed by Will Swenson and Mark Jacoby, who share the lead role as older and younger versions of Neil Diamond. They star alongside Robyn Hurder as Marcia, Linda Powell as Doctor, Jessie Fisher as Jaye Posner, Michael McCormick as Fred Colby and Tommy O’Rourke, Tom Alan Robbins as Bert Berns and Kieve Diamond, and Bri Sudia as Ellie Greenwich and Rose. Including a sheet music of Diamond’s most beloved songs, A nice sound presents a book by four-time Oscar nominee Anthony McCarten (Bohemian Rhapsody), directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (spring awakening), and the choreography of Olivier Prize winner and four-time Tony Award nominee Steven Hoggett (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child).

Boston previews began on June 21 for a six-week run. The Broadway montage of A nice sound will begin previews at the Broadhurst Theater on Wednesday November 2, ahead of the Sunday December 4 opening.
