BOWLING GREEN, KY. – Bowling Green Police were called to 352 Cherry Way around 10:10 p.m. Thursday due to a possible shooting.
When officers arrived, they located a man with gunshot wounds, according to Bowling Green police officer Ronnie Ward.
“When the officers arrived at the scene, they were able to locate the victim on the side of the building, but realized that the place where he had been shot, where the initial conflict had taken place was at the front of the building, so he walked to the side. of the building and that’s where it collapsed. So our officers were able to assist her until the ambulance arrived and then take her to the hospital, ”Ward said.
Emergency medical services took the man, identified as Robert Harbin, 33, to Bowling Green Medical Center, police said.
“When we spoke to people at the scene, some people said they heard the gunshot and came out of their homes, so we couldn’t speak to a specific person who witnessed the shooting. shooting. But there are some who say they’ve seen people, so we talk to them to see if we can figure out who that person was, if anyone knew them and then where do we go from here, ”Ward said.
Police are working to gather more information and ask the public to contact them if they have any information about this incident.
A neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous, said the incident was terrifying.
“I was sitting on my back porch and heard a loud noise and at first thought it might be a firecracker, but it sounded a little louder than that. Well, it really makes me think this neighborhood is getting a little bit worse here all the time, I think, ”the neighbor said.
She said she was concerned for her own safety.
Police are also asking residents of the neighborhood to check their surveillance video to see if there is video of the incident or of people walking or driving at that time.
