Port Washington offers senior summer bowling, bocce, and horseshoe leagues

Seniors in Port Washington can join the sports leagues for horseshoe, petanque and bowling which begin this summer.

Sponsored by the Port Washington Adult Community Senior Center, the Summer Horseshoe League kicks off with a week of training at 9 a.m. on May 25 at Sauk Park near Moore Road.

The 16-week league competition begins at 9 a.m. on June 1. The organizers will provide the players with horseshoes.

Registration is available at the Adult Community Center office, 403 W. Foster Street. The costs are $ 17 for members of the senior center and $ 22 for non-members.

For pétanque, players are assigned to a team each week. Games are scheduled at Sauk Park from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Tuesdays from June 15 to Sept. 14.

Players must register for pétanque before June 8. Registration is free for members and costs $ 15 for guests.

Bowling takes place at 1 p.m. on Mondays at Harbor Hills Bowling Alley, 101 N. Freeman Drive.

Three games and a shoe rental will cost $ 7.

Interested bowlers can just drop by the bowling alley or call organizer Patti Villeneuve at 262-689-1614 with questions.
