Score tickets for 9 to 5 the musical | Campbelltown-Macarthur Advertiser

Get out of bed and pour yourself a cup of ambition – 9 to 5 the musical arrives in Sydney!

The stage adaptation of the beloved 1980 film begins airing at the Capitol Theater from February 16 and to celebrate Australia, Community Media has 10 double passes to give away.

Australia Idol winner Casey Donovan, Australian stage icon Marina Prior and Erin Clare star as the three protagonists, who take down their boss, played by the talented Eddie Perfect (Offspring).

Iconic performer Caroline O’Connor is also in the cast.

Country music superstar Dolly Parton starred in the original film and is responsible for the catchy main melody as well as the score for the stage adaptation.

She said she was thrilled to see the Australian cast assembled.

“I’m so excited that Marina, Casey and Erin will be playing Violet, Judy and Doralee alongside Caroline and Eddie in the Australian cast of 9 to 5“said Parton.

“The answer to 9 to 5 around the world has been amazing so far.

“I can’t wait for everyone downstairs to have a fun – and fun – evening at 9 to 5. “

The production is supported by the State Government’s Destination NSW and is expected to draw large crowds in NSW.

Tourism Minister Stuart Ayres has said the Sydney premiere of 9 to 5 was a coup for the economy of the state’s visitors.

“The visitor economy to New South Wales will benefit greatly from hosting Dolly Parton’s 9-5s and we look forward to welcoming visitors to Sydney to see this upbeat, high-energy production come to life and bring a little bit of rhinestone sparkle to our stages, ”he said.

“Securing this production for Sydney will bring welcome positivity as we emerge from the challenges of the pandemic. “

A West End sensation and inspired by the blockbuster movie, the musical tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy, three enterprising co-workers pushed to their limits by their petty boss Franklin Hart Jnr. Resorting to wit, camaraderie, and cunning, they come up with a no-holds-barred plan to kidnap and turn the tide on their controlling supervisor in the most hilarious and provocative way.

The only question is whether the spirited trio will manage to change the culture of the office to reach its full potential – or will events crumble when the CEO makes an unexpected visit?

9 to 5 screenings at the Capital Theater, Haymarket, starting February 16 for a limited season.

Australian Community Media has 10 double passes for 9 to 5 the musical at the Théâtre de la Capitale to offer, for the performance on Wednesday February 16 from 7:30 p.m.
