TITANIC THE MUSICAL will embark on a 10th anniversary UK tour in March 2023

The Tony Award-winning Titanic The Musical will embark on a new UK tour from March 2023.

Produced by Danielle Tarento, Steven M Levy and Vaughan Williams in association with the Mayflower Theater in Southampton, the production will open at the Churchill Theater in Bromley on March 16, 2023, 10 years after its critically acclaimed debut at London’s Southwark Playhouse.

After Bromley, the tour will then continue to Newcastle Theater Royal, Belfast Grand Opera House, Southampton Mayflower Theatre, Birmingham Hippodrome, Norwich Theater Royal, Cardiff New Theatre, Nottingham Theater Royal, Wycombe Swan, at Hull New Theatre, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, The Orchard Theater Dartford, The Lowry in Salford and Sheffield Lyceum in July 2023 (further tour dates to be announced)

Danielle Tarento said: “Steven, Vaughan and I are so excited that the great ship Titanic is embarking on another UK tour. I can’t believe 10 years have passed since that first production at the Southwark Playhouse – it feels like it was a lifetime ago and only the other day to the same extent! After the few years we’ve all been through, being able to mark this anniversary by revisiting some favorite locations from the last tour and also bringing the show to new ones is especially joyful.

In the late hours of April 14, 1912, the RMS Titanic, on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, collided with an iceberg and “the unsinkable ship” slowly sank. It was one of the most tragic disasters of the 20th century. 1517 men, women and children lost their lives.

Based on real people aboard the world’s most legendary ship, Titanic The Musical is a breathtaking and moving production centered on the hopes, dreams and aspirations of its passengers who each embarked with personal stories and ambitions that are clean. All innocently unaware of the fate that awaits them, third-class immigrants dream of a better life in America, second-class immigrants too imagine they can join the lifestyles of the rich and famous, while first-class millionaire barons anticipate eternal legacies. .

With music and lyrics by Maury Yeston (Nine, Grand Hotel) and book by Peter Stone (Woman of the Year and 1776), the couple collectively won an Academy Award, Emmy Award, Olivier Award and three Tony Awards. .

The original Broadway production of Titanic The Musical won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. This new production celebrates the 10th anniversary of its premiere in London where it received critical acclaim across the board.

Director is Thom Southerland, set designer and costumes are David Woodhead, lighting designer is Howard Hudson, sound designer is Andrew Johnson, musical direction is by Cressida Carré and new musical arrangements are by Ian Weinberger. The casting has not yet been announced.
